Aseprite
Aseprite is a tool for making pixel art animations, sprites, backgrounds, and anything else imaginable. I'm a big fan of the pixel art style and method because I feel it distills an object's essence down to the core components and shapes, and also because it's the style of nostalgic memories from my childhood. So far I primarily focus on small works less sized at 256 Ă— 256 pixels or less.
Beyond just the visual component of the art itself, I try to incorporate animation techniques I know of such as squash/stretch, changes in frame rate/playback speed, etc. I aim to continue gaining experience and learning about things like color theory and breaking sprites into layers for animation.

Trying out some subtle shading with a limited palette.
