Engineering

Skills

My work as a mechanical engineer has made me capable with many programs, tools, and materials:

  • 10+ years of combined use in CAD programs SolidWorks/CATIA/Fusion/Inventor
  • Experience in FEA package FloEFD and PLM software Windchill
  • Experience in solid, surface, and parametric modeling
  • Master-skeleton modeling techniques
  • Production of GD&T drawings
  • Understanding and incorporating DFMA techniques
  • Working knowledge of electronics; motors, sensors, wire routing, programming, mechanical stability, ingress protection, etc.
  • Familiarity with many manufacturing processes
  • Prototyping in high and low fidelity, on tight timelines, using CNC and hand tools
  • Stock hardware selection to minimize cost while maintaining performance
  • Materials selection to mathematically optimize properties
  • Planning projects concurrently using Excel
  • Producing Bills of Materials and cost estimates linked with CAD data
  • Documenting CAD and prototyping best practices
